Everything changes when you start to emit your own frequency rather than absorbing the frequencies around you, when you start imprinting your intent on the universe rather than receiving an imprint from existence.
i went to a show at the echo. the musician i was there to see went on second and when i arrived she was setting up. this talented and competent lady plays alone, so she was making sure all her levels were balanced on the monitors before she is ready to play. it took a few minutes of finagling bass levels and getting the drum machine right, but totally average set up time for a solo. then as she starts some mandouche yells “how are those monitors?” and laughs and it made me so angry cause i could hear the misogyny dripping in his voice, assuming her incompetence (which i found even grosser because he is asserting HE knows the best way SHE should prepare to perform). anyhow, she didn’t pay him any notice and went on to play an awesome set but i feel like this kind of misogyny towards women in music needs to get called out cause i see it happen to so many people, on so many levels, from minor annoyance to full hostility. this is a really minor example, but i wanna know if any of you have thoughts on this/other examples/experiences?
